After an early breakfast, depart Fes and head south toward the Sahara Desert. The drive takes you through the Middle Atlas Mountains, where you’ll pass through cedar forests and Berber villages. Stop in Ifrane, for a short break and photo opportunity. Continue to Midelt, a charming town known as the “Apple City,” nestled between the Middle and High Atlas Mountains. After lunch, drive through the Ziz Valley, known for its palm groves and dramatic gorges, and arrive in Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara. Switch from your vehicle to camels for a trek into the heart of the desert.
As you ride across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, the silence and vastness of the desert will leave you in awe. Arrive at a luxury desert camp, where you’ll spend the night in a traditional Berber tent. Enjoy a hearty dinner under the stars, accompanied by the rhythmic beats of Berber music. Wake up early to witness the sunrise over the dunes—a magical moment as the sand shifts from deep orange to golden yellow. After breakfast at the camp, embark on a unique cultural experience.
