Itinerary 3 days tour From Fes to Marrakech via desert & Oasis

Day 1: Fes to Merzouga – Through the Middle Atlas Mountains and Ziz Valley

After an early breakfast, depart Fes and head south toward the Sahara Desert. The drive takes you through the Middle Atlas Mountains, where you’ll pass through cedar forests and Berber villages. Stop in Ifrane, for a short break and photo opportunity. Continue through Midelt and into the Ziz Valley, known for its palm groves and dramatic gorges. Pass through Erfoud, and arrive in Merzouga, where the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi await. Switch from your vehicle to camels for a trek into the heart of the desert. Arrive at a luxury desert camp, where you’ll spend the night in a traditional Berber tent. Enjoy a hearty dinner under the stars, accompanied by the rhythmic beats of Berber music. Overnight in the desert camp.

Day 2: Merzouga to Dades Gorges – Rissani, Todra Gorges, and Dades Gorges

Wake up early to witness the sunrise over the dunes—a magical moment as the sand shifts from deep orange to golden yellow. After breakfast at the camp, bid farewell to the Sahara Desert and begin your journey toward Dades Gorges. Stop in Rissani, a historic town known for its traditional souks and as the birthplace of the Alaouite dynasty, the current ruling family of Morocco. Continue to Todra Gorge, a narrow canyon with cliffs rising up to 300 meters. Take a short hike to fully appreciate the scale of this natural wonder. In the afternoon, drive to Dades Gorge, where towering rock formations and lush oases create a breathtaking landscape. Spend the night in a hotel overlooking the gorge. Overnight in Dades Gorges.

Day 3: Dades Gorges to Marrakech – Kelaat Mgouna, Skoura Oasis, Ouarzazate, Ait Benhaddou, and High Atlas Mountains

After breakfast, depart Dades Gorges and head toward Marrakech. Stop in Kelaat Mgouna, known as the “Valley of the Roses,” famous for its rosewater production. Continue to Skoura Oasis, where you’ll explore the lush palm groves and visit the historic Kasbah Amridil. Next, drive to Ouarzazate, and visit the Taourirt Kasbah. Continue to Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a famous filming location for movies like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Explore the ancient kasbah and learn about its history. Finally, cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka pass, the highest mountain pass in North Africa. The scenic drive offers stunning views of valleys, Berber villages, and rugged landscapes. Arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon, where your journey concludes. Overnight in Marrakech.
